ProgeCAD 2027 English Update 27.0.6 Released

We are pleased to announce the release of ProgeCAD 2027 English Update 27.0.6. This latest update includes a comprehensive collection of fixes, performance improvements, new features, stability enhancements, and programming improvements.

The update improves several areas of ProgeCAD, including 2D drafting, dimensions, 3D modeling, point clouds, GeoMap, external references, printing and publishing, blocks, text editing, Explorer tools, user interface, performance, and programming.

What's New in ProgeCAD 2027 Update 27.0.6

2D Drafting, Dimensions and Object Snapping

  • Fixed STRETCH of whole jogged dimensions.
  • Fixed STRETCH of radial, diameter, 2-line angular, 3-point angular, aligned and arc-length dimensions, as well as MLeader.
  • Fixed dynamic input dimensions being incorrectly influenced by the THICKNESS system variable.
  • Fixed snapping CENTER to incorrect endpoints in some entities.
  • Fixed deferred Perpendicular osnap.
  • Fixed POLAR tracking in Paper Space.
  • Fixed PASTECLIP of entities with specific constraints.
  • Fixed creation of a tangent between two circles with opposite normals.
  • Fixed 2D object snapping over point clouds.
  • Added 3D point cloud node osnap to the SETESNAP dialog.
  • Implemented node osnap on legacy point clouds such as LAS and PCG, activated by 3DOSMODE = 128.

3D Modeling and Visual Styles

  • Fixed highlighting of faces in Realistic, Conceptual and Hidden visual styles when using Dynamic UCS or CTRL+Click to select a face.
  • Fixed face highlighting when using Dynamic UCS or face selection.
  • Changed the Settings dialog "3D settings" tab to use the SHADEDGEMODE variable.
  • Implemented the SHADEDGEMODE variable to control the display of 3D solid edges in Realistic and Conceptual visual styles.
  • ShadeEdgeMode = 0 displays edges and isolines.
  • ShadeEdgeMode = 1 displays edges.
  • ShadeEdgeMode = 2 displays neither edges nor isolines, except during highlighting.
  • Added quick properties for "3D solid" entities, divided by type and manageable through the _CUI dialog.
  • Fixed 3D solid subtraction in a specific case.
  • Fixed bugs related to 3D positioning using the 3DPOSITIONER.

GeoMap and GIS Improvements

  • Fixed the GEOMAPIMAGE command when VIEWDIR is not unit length.
  • Fixed the size of DWG files created using GEOMAPIMAGE.
  • Improved GeoMap image quality by using region-based scale estimation and viewport LOD caching.
  • Fixed the direction of NORTH in the GEO command when specified using the mouse or keyboard.

Point Cloud Improvements

  • Restored the "elevation" color type for legacy point clouds and improved visualization speed.
  • Fixed setting the color type of legacy point clouds from the property palette.
  • Enabled RCS/RCP point cloud preview in the POINTCLOUDATTACH dialog.
  • Improved the speed of loading LAS files.
  • Fixed the display of properties for multiple PointCloud objects.
  • Fixed file extensions proposed by External Reference Explorer when substituting a point cloud.
  • Improved the speed of object snapping and selection of point cloud entities.
  • Added support in RCP/RCS point clouds for stylization and color schemes set and displayed in the property palette.
  • Supported point cloud stylizations include "Scan colors", "Normal", and "Elevation".
  • Fixed crashes when using RCS/RCP point clouds with the property palette.
  • Implemented display of clipped point clouds.

External References and Explorer

  • Added the "Change Path Type" command in EXPLORER for paths in external references.
  • Added the "Change path" command to the EXPREFS contextual menu.
  • Added the "Find and Replace" command in EXPLORER for paths in external references.
  • Added "Change Path" functionality for external references.
  • Fixed the date format in External Reference Explorer.
  • Fixed handling of missing external references.
  • Fixed the display of information for a newly attached external reference.
  • Fixed suggested paths for substitution of external reference files.
  • Fixed reloading of external reference information in progeCAD Explorer after changing the path.
  • Fixed file extensions proposed by External Reference Explorer for point cloud substitution.
  • Fixed handled exceptions when using EXPREFS with missing external references.
  • Improved Explorer performance when a drawing contains a large number of layer states and XREFs.
  • Added "Merge layers to" functionality in Layer Explorer.
  • Added a Help button to "Find and Replace" in EXPLORER.

Blocks and Advanced Blocks

  • Fixed disappearing blocks during the EATTEDIT command.
  • Fixed attribute placement issues in Advanced Blocks.
  • Fixed "Handled exception" notifications when saving dynamic block definitions using BSAVEAS.
  • Fixed the Advanced Block Stretch Point parameter.
  • Fixed the BARCODE command when called from the Block Editor.
  • Improved the speed of opening the BEDIT dialog in drawings containing many blocks.
  • Fixed crashes when Block Explorer updated a preview with an empty image.
  • Fixed block-related issues when selecting entities in specific drawings.

Text, MTEXT and Annotation

  • Fixed CTRL+HOME in the text editor.
  • Fixed invalid text position values when editing MTEXT.
  • Fixed display of stacked text using Bigfont.
  • Fixed the height of MTEXT when creating annotative MLEADER.
  • Fixed Undo after deleting numbered text using the Backspace key in the MTEXT editor.
  • Fixed highlight text color on the light theme (COLORTHEME = 12) in property dialog items.
  • Improved layout-changing performance in drawings containing many TTF texts.
  • Set the default value of TTFTRIANGLECACHE to ON.

Printing, Plotting and Publishing

  • Fixed printing and print preview of TTF text using CTB with lineweight and "fast" print transparency mode.
  • Fixed incorrect changes to the default printer and paper size when opening certain drawings.
  • Fixed automatic naming of PDF files in the PUBLISH command.
  • Fixed saving and loading of the PUBLISH "Combine sheets to single PDF file" option.
  • Fixed the "Page Setup Manager" menu item appearance in the layout context menu.

Layout, Workspace and User Interface

  • Fixed workspace tab order modified through CUI not being preserved after restarting progeCAD.
  • Fixed the display of the property palette when closing and reopening the Start Page.
  • Fixed the display of the property palette when opening progeCAD by double-clicking a drawing.

  • Fixed CONVERTSPLINE to remove the "Line/Arc" request.
  • Fixed POLYSEZ to avoid crashes when two points of a polyline overlap.

  • Improved FIND command search behavior.

  • Changed the table cell contextual menu.
